This beautiful cottage (60m2) is found right next to an authentic and cosy 15th century castle, which towers above the hills of the Vezelay area.
This is the Burgundy region, between Vézelay and Avallon, in the 'Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan'. The castle stands in the middle of a park (10ha.) with hundred-year-old trees. Within walking distance of the castle stands a cross, laundry house, church and further up a town. In the surrounding, you will find the basilica of Vézelay, the Cisterciën abbeys of Fontenay, Citaux and Pontigny, the mediaeval castles of Bazoches, Chastelux, Epoisss, and the fortified cities Avallon, Semur and Auxois, Montréal and Noyers sur Serein. This area has beautiful idyllic landscapes, which you can discover at your leisure by foot, horse or bicycle.
Mountain bikes are available at the castle. There is much to do on the lakes, brooklets and ponds of the Yonne and the Cure, like canoeing, kayak, sailing and fishing.
