The house is linked to the house of the friendly house owners and has a partly communal garden. In the direct surrounding, you will find a lake with enough possibilities to hike and cycle in a beautiful woody surrounding and the nature area 'Veenpark' is surely worth a visit. Other lovely trips are the fortified city Bourtange and the North animal park (Emmen).
