South of Nijmegen, crossing the river Maas, you will set foot on the Land of Cuijk. In the river basin of the Maas, you will find this beautiful country house, situated on an estate, 2,5km outside the village Beers. On the south side of Beers you will find a splendid woody surrounding, which has been situated for the historic interesting buildings and estates. A unity trademarked by great variations: Woods and brooklets, meadows and pools, orchards and farmlands, grazing cows, playful bunnies and grazing warm blooded horses varying with each other. The estate "De Barendonk"is 50 hectares big. The house was already named in the 15th century and is built on a mound in relation to the Beerse Overlaat. Behind the country house is a nature camping area, horse-halting place, enclosed by the old canal. Cycling and hiking are the favourites for our guests. Therefore, in the direct surrounding there are various beautiful cycling and hiking routes set out. The surrounding is alternate and startling, from a beautiful nature to friendly old little towns like Cuijk and Grave. Even a visit to the Mookerheide, Nijmegen and Berg en Dal are worth it, with among others the Afrika Museum and Bible Open air museum. The war museum in Overloon gives a good impression of what happened in the surrounding during the 2nd World War. Even for the children, there are numberless relaxation possibilities like diverse swimming pools in Cuijk and Mill, play garden the Hemelrijk in Volkel and recreation centre De Bergen in Wanroy. Recommended for a family weekend!
