Casa Salamandra is a detached, wonderful spacious and sunny holiday house. The light comes into the living room and kitchen from all sides and in the morning’s you have the sun in the very spacious bedrooms. The interior is simple, but everything is available. The fireplace heats the living room as well as the kitchen and one of the two bedrooms. Around the house are diverse terraces where there is always a place in the sun or in the shade. On one of the terraces you will find the BBQ. Casa Salamandra is within 1 km from a small through road, therefore wonderfully peaceful. You have a splendid view over the hilly landscape around the house, ideal for hikes. The village Barão S. João (approx. 2km) is another typical Portuguese village; there is a little supermarket and a restaurant and somewhat small Portuguese café. On the 4th Sunday of the month there is always a junk market, if you there then it is surely worth looking at. Further, in the surrounding, there are many lovely things to see and do. Praia da Luz is a pleasant resort; you will find many little restaurants, bars, shops and a beautiful beach. Here you can hire chairs and parasols, cruising on a banana and surfing. For the golfers, the new Golf resort Boavista is around the corner (3km). In the direct surround is a small fishermen’s village like Burgau and Salema. Here you can watch in a traditional way how the fishermen sail out and return with their catch again. In Sagres is a walk around the 17th century fort, where fishermen stand dangerously on rock points fishing, very peculiar. The Monchique chain of mountains is the highest point of the Algarve (902m). Once on the top of the mountain you have a splendid view over Portimão and the surrounding.
