Very authentic restored caves houses, situated in the town Galera, 7 km south from Huéscar and approximately 150km northeast from Granada. There are caves of 1 to 4 bedrooms for 2 to 8 persons (see housecodes GRANA-18840-01 to 05). The division of the cave house is similar, yet simple. Not a single house is actually the same. The pictures may differ.
The town Galera and many other towns in the surrounding are famous for the cave houses, which is cut out in the bare sand rocks, which is typical for the landscape. The temperature in the caves remains 18° C the entire year through, as well as in the hot summers as the cold winters. Even the population of this town still lives in caves!
In the neighbourhood are many excursion and trekking possibilities (GR-7 european path nearby). The town Galera is central situated with respect to the nature park of Sierra de Cazorla, Castril, Sierra de Baza, Valle de Dos Rios where there are archaeological excavations and naturally Granada with the famous Alhambra. It is possible to make use of the swimming pool and the small spa facilities of the closely situated eco-complex "El Molino de Morillas" at a special price. It is also possible to make use of the breakfast buffet for 5-euro p.p. Wood for the open fireplace is available on request.
