Very old, simple chalet Le Gros Caillou, 2 storeys, above Zermatt, in the district of Obernhäusern, in a secluded, quiet, sunny position, 10 m from the woods edge, 500 m from the ski-run, in the green, south-west facing position. Motor access to 180 m from the house, except in winter 500 m. Footpath to the house. Shopping centre 2 km, restaurant, bar 500 m, railway station Gornergrat 1.8 km, underground station Sunnegga 1.2 km. Indoor swimming pool 1.2 km. Walking routes from the house. Access to the chalet from the Region Sunnegga ski runs. In winter one can ski to the next bus stop and catch the bus into town.
Housing: 4-room chalet on 2 levels, on the ground floor, simple and practical furnishings: living/dining room with dining corner, TV and radio, exit to the balcony south facing position and west facing position. 1 room 9 m2, with sloping ceilings, with 2 beds. 1 room with sloping ceilings with 1 double bed (160 cm). Open kitchen (3 hotplates, oven) with dining table. Bath-room, sep. WC. On the lower ground floor: 1 room with 2 beds and shower/WC. Please note: only 1 dog accepted. The 1-room apartment on the lower floor has a separate entrance. Beautiful view of the Matterhorn.
Zermatt: 1620 - 3820 m. Famous, car free, picturesque summer holiday resort and winter sports resort with 5478 inhabitants, situated at the foot of the Mount Cervin, 34 km south from Visp. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Indoor pool. Access: road Bern - Visp - Täsch. No access to the resort by car, reachable only by railway from Täsch 6 km. Public parking in Täsch. Access by train Brig - Zermatt. Railway station in the resort. Brig 38 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Genève-Cointrin (GVA), Zürich (ZRH), Basel (BSL).
