Leventina: 400 - 1200 m. The Leventina valley, known as Leventina for short is situated in the Ticino and is 34 km long, it runs from the Stalvedro-Schlucht below Airolo to the estuary of the Brenno river by Biasca at several heights: Airolo (1200 m), Ambri-Piotta (1000 m), Faido (700 m), Giornico (400 m). A few small shops and restaurants in Giornico and Chironico. The Leventina is still unknown holiday resort. Access: railway station Airolo. Bus service. For arrivals by plane: airport Lugano (LUG), Milano-Malpensa (MXP), Zürich (ZRH).
Activities: During summer time: Many excursions are possible: Strada Alta, Ritomsee (Airolo) and Biasca. Fishing. Walking path. Mountain bike tracks. During winter time: Ski region Carì. 1 chair lift, 2 drag lifts. 3 ski runs, total length 15 km. 1 toboggan-run (long 3 km). Ski school in Airolo with 2 cable cars, 3 ski lifts, 1 chair lift and 30 km of piste. Ski hire available. Ski touring with Bedretto.
